Appropriate Body

What is an Appropriate Body?

It is a statutory requirement for the induction period of early careers teachers.

The Appropriate Body has the main quality assurance role within the induction process and is responsible for checking that headteachers/principals have put in place an induction programme for their ECTs. It also ensures that ECTs receive their statutory entitlements and that the support, assessment, and guidance procedures in place are fair and appropriate.
